On behalf of the staff
and governors welcome to You will find that our children
are enthusiastic, eager to learn and achieve high standards. They do this
because our staff are not only dedicated to educational excellence, but are
also caring individuals who together make a great team. Our parents are also
hugely supportive of the school and their children's education both at home
and through volunteering at the school. There is an active PTA that organises
many events throughout the year and raises a very considerable amount of
money for the school. We are undoubtedly fortunate to occupy a wonderful new
building, which is just three years old, has some excellent modern
facilities, on-site playing fields, and which is all just a short walk away
from the beautiful and historic city centre of This year, the school
enters a new phase of development. We were very sorry to have to say goodbye
last year to Mrs Romero, our retiring Headteacher and Mrs Hladky, our Deputy
Head, who also retired. Both served the school wonderfully for many years
and, most notably, achieved an Ofsted Outstanding ranking for our school
again last June, which gives us a Cambridge Double First: two successive
Ofsted Outstandings. We are more than
delighted to welcome Mr Stephen Burton from We
are all very pleased to welcome you to Ian

Calendar – (Click to see the detailed school calendar here) School Term and
Term dates for 2010
-2011 can be found on Cambridgeshire
County Council site. The
school day
The bell rings at 8.55 for children to line up and follow
their class teacher into school. The playground is supervised from 8.40 so
children should not arrive before this time. For security reasons, pod doors
are locked as soon as children have been brought into school, so please make
sure your child arrives in good time for the bell. Any child arriving late,
for any reason, must enter through the main entrance and report for school at
the reception desk. All pupils take a 15 minute mid-morning break and
Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 also have a mid afternoon break. Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1 and younger Key Stage 2
children should be collected promptly by parents at the end of the school
day. In the interests of safety, it is important to let the class teacher
know of changes to collection arrangements. Office Hours The school reception area is clearly signposted and is open
from 8.30–4.00 each day. When calling as volunteer helpers or visitors to the school,
parents should report to reception and are expected to sign the
Visitors’ Book and wear visitor badges when in school for more than ten
minutes. Parents should remember to sign out when they leave.
