School Clothing

 

There is no school uniform at Milton Road Primary School, this is another lovely thing about our school. #Identity is one of our curriculum words and we want every child to feel that they can express themselves through their choice of clothes. We love bright colourful clothes but no designer wear, football shirts or logos! 

 

We expect all children to wear appropriate clothing for the context and for the time of year. In our school we spend a lot of time learning outside in our beautiful grounds.

We say, there is no such thing as bad weather only the wrong clothing

 

Please ensure that all items of clothing are clearly labelled with your child’s name. 

 

Clothing should be safe, practical, hardwearing and suitable for a range of activities including: 

​​

• art and design

• role-play and drama

• sitting with legs crossed on the classroom floor

• outdoor learning and play-time in all weathers

Clothing or accessories which are inappropriate or unsafe in the school context, include:

 

• offensive images or logos

• full length or tight skirts

• very wide, overly long or hipster trousers

• short tops

• high heeled boots

• accessories such as nail varnish and temporary tattoos 

• jewellery (Only the smallest of studs should be worn with pierced ears and must be removed by the child for P.E. lessons)

Royal blue P.E. T-shirts and navy shorts are requested to be worn for P.E. lessons and sports.
