Inspirational Inventions

Hello everybody,

It is the last week of our brilliant project about inventors and inventions. The children have responded to this project in so many inspirational ways. We have been sooooooo impressed with their work, but particularly their fantastic writing. All the reading you are doing outside school has a real impact on their work. So well done you!

The children have created their own version of a Mrs Armitage story and thoroughly enjoyed acting out their ideas and finally writing them. Some children have even started editing their work!

We have done our half-termly phonics screening check and it has been so pleasing to see the progress every child has made.  Well done for getting the phonics homework done, it does have a real impact.

Maths has been developing over the half term from measuring length, height, weight and capacity. The children really enjoyed the wide variety of practical maths  and recorded what they found out really well!  More recently we have been linking the story of ten to the story of twenty and thirty

if      8 + 2 = 10

then 18 + 2 = 20

and  28 + 2 = 30

Such fun!

Next half term we are venturing into the world of Fairy Tales!

Have a restful but pleasant holiday!

Ms Boyd and Mrs Mac
