Gastro at Milton Road - Lunch Menus

Lunches at school

Lunchtime Company is the catering company chosen by the school to provide school lunches to our students.

Lunchtime Company is a Cambridge based school catering company whose purpose is to make the lunchtime meal at Milton Road Primary School the highlight of the day for everyone. Our vision is to bring the catering to the heart of Milton Road, where students, staff and teachers can all experience the enjoyment of eating together.

We will be attending student council meetings to make sure that we understand the likes and dislikes of students from all year groups.

Milton Road will have its own menu cycle which will develop from these meetings and regular student surveys.

All Milton Road parents will be invited to a tasting each year to make sure that we incorporate your wishes and ideas with those of the teachers and students.

If you want to look at the current menu cycle please use the link below.

NEW Menu - From 1st November 2021

Packed lunches from home

Parents should encourage their children to eat a healthy packed lunch. As there are currently children in school with severe nut allergies, parents’ co-operation in not including peanut butter or packets of nuts would be appreciated. Fizzy drinks, sweets and chocolate are not permitted. Lunch boxes should be clearly labelled with the child’s name and class.

Snacks and Water

As a healthy mid-morning snack, children may bring fruit (fresh or dried) or raw vegetables. Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 pupils are provided - free of charge - with a portion of fruit or vegetable each day. For younger children, where parents wish to provide the mid-morning snack themselves, it is recommended that it is prepared for easy eating and stored in a small plastic container.

Children are encouraged to drink water throughout the day. Drinking water is available on tap in every classroom. It is recommended that every child brings in an individual, labelled water bottle.

Parents are asked not to send in cakes or sweets to celebrate birthdays
