End of term!
We've made it to the end of our first half-term in Year 5 and what a fun and exciting adventure we have had along the way. We would first of all like to say how impressed we have been with the way all the children have adopted new routines so quickly and embedded them naturally into their days.
Since we last wrote, we have created our own short stories based on Ancient Greek myths - we do hope your children share theirs with you at home. Our class poetry anthologies are filling up nicely, particularly after a session of mythical poetry. We have also had an increasing number of self-initiated poems - keep them coming! In science, we have finished our exploration of space from the comfort of our own classrooms, dealing with tricky concepts such as gravity, shadows and phases of the moon. Our topic of Ancient Greece will continue after half-term, but we did have a notable lesson this week in which we enacted the journey of a Greek vase from its beginnings in the riverbed to its final resting place in a museum display.
We would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for all of your help and support during this strange time. We have greatly appreciated it and hope you have a restful and restorative half-term.
