Don't judge a book by it's cover!
In Year 3, reading for pleasure is very important to us. We recently rescued lots of old dictionaries which were on the journey to be recycled due to the amount of pages that were missing. We decided to give them a new lease of life, by using them in a cross curricular English/Art project. We looked at lots of different ideas and examples to inspire us, then we had complete freedom to make our own book/word art in any way we wanted. Some of us chose to make little hedgehogs, dogs or rabbits to decorate our book corner as 'reading buddies' and some of us chose to make pictures from the pages, or by collecting together vocabulary we particularly liked. Everyone really showed our creativity value!
