Welcome to Year 3
Welcome to Class 3M.
This year we have been having lots of fun whilst learning and all the children in our class are enthusiastic about almost everything that we do together. We particularly enjoy Swimming , Art, Drama and PE. We work mainly in groups of six and these tables change every half term. This way we get to know everyone in the class. This term our topic is Roald Dahl and we have been writing our own adventure stories based on ‘James and The Giant Peach’ as well as illustrating them in the style of Quentin Blake. This class has many budding artists and writers. We try to link all subject areas to our topic. Today we have been making Crispy Wasp stings – a revolting recipe from Roald Dahl’s collection but judging by the way 3M consumed them, they didn’t find them too revolting.
Another favourite time of the week is Friday’s Show and Tell and choosing time - there is never any shortage of contributors sharing their finds!
Hello and welcome from Class 3R
We have brought together our work in Literacy and maths this week with one of Roald Dahl’s ‘Revolting Recipes’. We have been reading ‘James and the Giant Peach’ and particularly enjoyed the Centipede’s song where he tells of the strange and scrumptious dishes he has eaten over the years; and we had a go at making ‘Crispy Wasp Stings.’ The class had to weigh the ingredients to work out the quantities needed in the recipe. We then mixed, assembled and ate the results. We were very glad that the large crumb of bread that had been stuck in the toaster did not set off the fire alarm as it began to fill the classroom with smoke and the birds got extra crumbs as the toaster was shaken outside! Worthy of the best of Roald Dahl’s fantastic tales!
