Our School

This popular school is located within walking distance of the historic and cultural centre of Cambridge. The school uses a wealth of local resources to enhance children’s learning and make meaningful links with the curriculum.

In June 2006, the school moved into a brand new, state-of-the-art building which provides high quality indoor and outdoor spaces for learning, recreation and eating.

There are fifteen classes in total with two in each year group and three classes currently in Year 3.

Other shared spaces include a large library with extensive ICT facilities, a hall big enough to accommodate all the children and a separate Dining Room/Community Room. In April 2007 the new school building was officially opened by the children’s poet Michael Rosen. To commemorate this occasion, the newly designed school library now bears the name The Michael Rosen Library.

At the centre of the school is a large, sunny courtyard which is the focus for many activities every school day. The development of this courtyard is now complete and it provides a versatile and creative space in which to learn, eat and play.

Attractively landscaped with trees, shrubs, grass and a
pond, the outside environment provides a wide variety of opportunities for play, learning and community use.

The school received its second Ofsted Inspection in June 2009 and was again judged to be an outstanding school. The Milton Road Primary School Inspection Report 21st May 2009 is available on www.ofsted.gov.uk/reports
