Welcome to Milton Road Primary School
Welcome
We are pleased to welcome you to our new school website and hope you find it helpful. The information in this welcome message is intended to provide you with a quick overview of school should you have time to read it before browsing the site.
Comments from visitors to school confirm that there is a great enthusiasm for learning being expressed by our children and indeed the whole school community.
The superb building, with its futuristic design, provides an exceptional learning environment. The high degree of staff commitment together with the careful planning and delivery of a creative curriculum are other key factors enabling the school to have gained the highest possible ‘OFSTED Outstanding’ grade as one of the country’s best performing schools. The school has many gifted and talented children and is highly regarded throughout Cambridgeshire for its excellence in meeting the special needs of pupils.
We are proud of our local community and the wide diversity of nationalities and cultures which enrich the life experiences of everyone.
The school thrives on its creativity, in its music, art, history and theatrical performances. There is a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs and activities on offer. These activities take place before, during and after school.
Lunchtimes are a popular feature of the school day with superb, healthy food – both hot or packed lunches – provided by ASPENS, our caterers. Children are able to choose whether to eat lunch indoors or outside in the lovely courtyard.
Playtimes offer superb, wide ranging opportunities for pupils to relax, be active or to learn more according to individual choices.
The large team of play leaders and teaching assistants ensure that each child is supported in making the best use of the courtyard and extensive outside areas with their stimulating equipment and exciting challenges.
Another feature of our school is that children’s views are listened to and acted upon appropriately. This approach helps the children feel valued and respected.
The school also benefits from having very supportive parents. There is an active PTA that organises many events throughout the year raising large sums of money to support our school in so many ways. Many parents also provide volunteer help in classes, which we value enormously.
We feel sure that any child new to school will have an ‘outstanding’ experience here at Milton Road.
